Residential Tenancy Law – A session in English
Tuesday May 11th from 7pm – 9pm at JFSA.
A presenter from the Residential Tenancy Branch will come in to talk about:
WHAT EVERY LANDLORD AND TENANT NEEDS TO KNOW – Rights and Responsibilities
Have you ever wondered how and why a landlord can retain a tenant's security deposits? How many times a landlord can enter a tenant's unit? Or who is responsible for washing the windows? In this workshop we will review the rights and responsibilities of both landlords and tenants from before you rent to after the tenancy ends. You will have the opportunity to share your experiences and ask questions using your real life examples.

JOLT Article in Jewish Independant
JOLT (JIAS Opportunity for Leadership Training) is providing a forum where Russian-speaking Jews can identify opportunities for connection and involvement in the community. Nine participants have completed eight workshops ranging from topics on Jewish identity to Jewish communal structure. In addressing some of these issues, there were opportunities to network with lay leaders and Jewish communal professionals. JOLT participants are currently engaged in the internship practicum of the program where participants are matched with a lay leader from the Jewish community as their mentor, to provide practical volunteer experience.
